SolSwitch Communications Platform Roadmap
Overview
Recent Update Highlights
Three key recent update highlights are featured below, covering AI-powered call insights, intelligent IVR experiences, and more advanced queue management.
Updates
Call Summarization
SolSwitch now includes AI-powered Call Summarization and Transcriptions alongside its call recordings. Automatically generated post-call summaries highlight key points, outcomes, and action items from every call. Perfect for sales follow-ups, support reviews, training, and QA, it saves time while improving consistency and accountability across customer interactions.
Smart IVR
SolSwitch Smart IVR goes beyond traditional menu-based systems by using AI to deliver a more intuitive, personalized caller experience. It understands natural language, handles complex requests, and can anticipate caller intent - streamlining interactions, reducing transfers, and improving overall customer satisfaction through smarter, more efficient call routing.
Skills-Based Routing
Support for Skills-Based Routing will allow for much easier management of queueing and call centre environments that provide multiple services. Individual agents are given skills based on the training they’ve received, and from that the system will automatically add the agent to the correct phone queues, ensuring that callers are always reaching an agent with the proper skills to assist them.

Features / Reporting
Features/Reporting
Instantly generate natural-sounding prompts for auto attendants, greetings, announcements, and on-hold messaging - making updates faster, easier, and more consistent without manual recordings or studio sessions.
Simply type out a script, select a Male or Female voice model and click a button.
Allows administrators to assign high or low priority to specific DIDs. Calls are automatically prioritized within queues based on these settings, ensuring important callers move ahead while maintaining structured, fair call routing for all others.
SolSwitch now supports Stable and Bleeding Edge release branches, allowing organizations to choose between proven reliability and the latest features.
This dual-branch approach enables safer updates for high-priority clients while maintaining development momentum and controlled version rollouts.
Configurable call retention settings allow system administrators to automatically delete call records after a defined period. For example, calls without recordings can be removed after two years, while calls with recordings are retained - improving performance, reporting, and long-term system manageability.
Features / Reporting
Features/Reporting
SolSwitch can now notify system administrators when a new version is available. By checking a central API for the latest release, systems trigger alerts only when needed - sending version details, system identification, and a changelog link for streamlined update awareness and planning.
Administrators can grant portal users access to specific queues.
Access can be limited for live stats, reporting, and queue management - ensuring users only view and manage authorized queues while maintaining flexibility and stronger operational control.
SolSwitch now includes a Multi-System Login feature within Advanced Tools, allowing authenticated users to seamlessly access other SolSwitch systems where they have accounts - streamlining management for organizations operating multiple systems without requiring separate logins.
For multi-tenant licensees, support for additional billing options will allow for greater control over how services can be priced.
New controls will allow for billing of Multi-Channel Queueing services, Speech-to-Text usage as well as system storage used for Call Recordings.
SMS / MMS
SMS/MMS
Sunwire now supports outbound MMS through MCQ (Multi-Channel Queuing) and our API, enabling picture and video messaging.
Multi-segment texts can convert to MMS when supported. MCQ will now store MMS files locally, thereby extending retention beyond the standard seven-day limits.
SMS now includes built-in safeguards that monitor average and expected message traffic.
If unusual activity is detected, automatic alerts are triggered - helping protect your business from unexpected spikes, misuse, and potential disruptions before they become issues.
User Interface
User Interface
SolSwitch Extension Forwarding has been simplified so users select one default forwarding destination.
For greater control, Advanced Forwarding allows customized routing based on specific scenarios, giving users flexible call handling when needed while keeping everyday setup simple and streamlined.
Security
Security
SolSwitch now enhances monitoring of failed API access attempts, automatically blocking suspicious IPs in Guardian. Repeated failures - such as invalid keys or unauthorized access - trigger protective actions, strengthening platform security and proactively defending against brute-force attacks and unauthorized intrusion attempts.
Added support for configurable multi-instance backups.
Administrators can define how many backups to retain, creating an auto-rotating, numbered set. This ensures improved redundancy, structured retention, and stronger data protection beyond a single latest backup.
SolSwitch now includes additional layers of threat detection to prevent unauthorized access to system APIs.
Future Development Highlights
Several future roadmap items stand out for their direct customer impact, including voicemail-to-SMS, unified multi-channel outbound campaigns, and deeper Microsoft Teams integration.
Voicemail-to-SMS
In addition to the existing email notifications, SolSwitch will soon deliver voicemail transcripts directly via SMS. Users can choose to receive voicemails on their mobile device, email inbox, or both - ensuring faster awareness, greater flexibility, and improved responsiveness wherever business takes them.
SolCast 2.0
SolCast is being rebuilt from the ground up into a fully unified outbound communications system. In addition to enhanced automated calling, the new SolCast will support SMS and email campaigns, advanced scheduling, AI-powered voice and messaging, real-time reporting, conversational interactions, and robust API control.
Ideal for billing notices, emergency alerts, reminders, rate changes, shift updates, and more.
Email-to-Fax
Send faxes directly from your mail client. Simply email a formatted address (for example: 17055216777@faxfrom.yourdomain.com) and the message is delivered as a fax to the recipient.
Ideal for healthcare, education, and government, it streamlines document delivery while maintaining compatibility with traditional fax workflows.
Enhanced Teams Integration
Implementing controls for MS Teams into the SolSwitch web portal, allowing users to directly manage their connected Teams devices and SIP accounts.
Presence integration with MS Teams will ensure that your Teams account always shows your current call status, whether calling through Teams or through a desk phone or other connected device.
Multi-Channel Messaging will be integrated into Microsoft Teams, allowing you to manage SMS and Live Web Chat conversations directly within your Teams app.
Future Development
Features / Reporting
Features/Reporting
For SolSwitch customers using billable services, additional billing options will be added.
These will provide for greater control over how and when features are usable and when billing occurs. This includes setting caps on service usage, pre-paid credits for billable features, and manual or automated top-ups.
Leverage AI-driven insights with customizable call reporting in SolSwitch. Analyze call sentiment, identify conversations requiring follow-up, flag compliance concerns, and uncover trends across teams. Move beyond basic metrics with intelligent reporting that transforms call data into actionable business insights.
Users will now be able to upload firmware files directly to the SolSwitch, which will be available during device provisioning. This gives access to the latest versions as soon as they’re released.
Additionally, firmware file storage will be reallocated to make system updates much smaller and faster to complete.

You’ll be able to assign proficiency ratings to users, allowing queues to prioritize the most qualified agents - improving call handling accuracy, optimizing performance, and delivering smarter, more precise customer routing.
Features / Reporting
Features/Reporting
MCQ will be expanded to support file sharing through Web Chat and Facebook Messenger, enabling richer, more interactive conversations. SolSwitch will also receive mail server integration, allowing incoming emails to flow directly into the queue - bringing chat, social, SMS, and email into one unified response dashboard.
Smart IVR is evolving with enhanced multilingual support, including French, and future language expansion. It will better interpret business names into precise addresses, learn from tracked interactions to predict caller needs, and deepen integrations with CRMs, ERPs, and external APIs - delivering smarter, more adaptive call experiences.
SMS / MMS
SMS/MMS
SolSwitch will support sending and receiving RCS messages, enabling richer mobile interactions with branded messaging, read receipts, typing indicators, and multimedia content. RCS enhances traditional SMS with a more app-like experience, improving engagement, visibility, and customer communication capabilities.
MCQ Direct Messaging will allow SMS DIDs to be assigned directly to individual extensions, enabling private, one-to-one conversations outside of queues. These chats remain fully separate from queue interactions and simplify configuration - while preserving key options like time rules and notifications.
User Interface
